This year welcomes a new nationally consistent suite of award categories that are specifically designed to respond to contemporary planning research and practice across all sectors of the industry. The intent and scope of the 2011 Awards extends on planning, development, places and people and in focused on projects that showcase innovation, advancement and excellence in “Creating Liveable Communities”, a core principle of urban and regional planning.

We hope that the new Award Categories will provide an opportunity to celebrate outstanding planning excellence achieved through collaboration between participants in the planning process including Government, education institutions, private practice, the community and the wider development industry.

Our Awards ceremony, to be held on the 17 November 2011, will continue our colloboration with the Tasmanian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and with the support of our Sponsors for 2011 we look forward to a fresh approach, innovative program and a new Awards dinner to celebrate excellence achieved by the profession and in the community.
